      Moss Adams is currently seeking State and Local Tax Interns for 2025.

      Our interns gain knowledge of the firm's Tax practices through working with multiple clients across a variety of industries.

      State & Local Tax Interns participate in performing state and local tax compliance reviews, analyze tax controversies, research and draft technical memoranda regarding income and franchise tax issues, and much more.

      Qualifications:

      Required Qualifications:

      • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire. Moss Adams will not consider candidates for this position who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., H-1B, STEM OPT)
      • Must have completed or be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, with a preference for accounting majors
      • If an accounting major, must meet educational requirements to obtain CPA license upon full-time Staff hire
      • Must reside within a commutable distance to a Moss Adams office and be willing to work on-site
      • Eligible candidates must have academic courses remaining at the end of the internship; ideally, in the third year of a 4-year program, or fourth year of a 5-year program

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Major in Accounting or coursework in technology-related fields highly desirable
      • Master of Tax or JD/LLM preferred
      • Willingness to travel to client locations, including overnight stays, with travel expectations varying by department and office location
      • Flexibility to work overtime or additional hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
      • Excellent customer service skills; Ability to understand own and others' emotions to achieve desired goals
      • Creative problem solving, critical thinking and research skills; Organize information and exercise well-reasoned judgment
      • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Demonstrate confidence in decision making and poise in professional setting
      • Work effectively both as part of a team and independently
      • Highly motivated and embrace challenges as an opportunity to grow
      • Quickly adapt to a changing work environment, including the use of software, systems and technology
      • Outstanding organization and project management skills; Take responsibility for quality and timeliness of projects
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
