      Schedule: 32 hours per week, 4 days a week, Saturday-Tuesday 8:30am-5:00pm OR Tuesday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm


      Bicycle Transit Systems (Bike Transit) is a woman-owned business with a mission to operate bike share systems that create connections in our communities and protect our planet. We operate and manage a portfolio of bike share systems across the United States, as well as a nation-wide customer service call center. Philadelphia’s bike share program, Indego, launched in 2015 and has grown to 250 stations and 2500 bikes (electric and classic), and is nationally recognized as one of the most equitable bike share programs in the country. Coordinating growth within the communities we seek to serve is fundamental to how we operate and the Indego system is set to more than double in scale in the coming years. We are currently looking for a dedicated Station Technician to join our team!

      Station Technician s assist with the daily maintenance of Indego stations, as well as the preparation, refurbishment, installation/removal and optimization of Indego stations across Philadelphia. Under the direction of the Station Technician Supervisor and the Field Operations team, Station Technicians are responsible for ensuring that stations are fully functional with strong focus on kiosk up-time and device functionality, kiosk and dock power management, maintenance of clean and safe infrastructure, and ensuring a seamless bikeshare experience for the public.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Ensure 24/7 station functionality and operability, repair stations
      • Provide regular station maintenance
      • Conduct equipment repairs, programming and installations using internal best practices and SOP’s
      • Open, close and respond to job tickets in a timely manner
      • Perform regular assessments of ticket system
      • Provide complete service records for all work performed
      • Respond to direction from, and communicate and coordinate proactively with, Dispatch and Operations Management to resolve urgent needs and manage triage of tickets based on priority and user impact.
      • Work closely with the Station Technician Supervisor and System Planning team to successfully implement station expansion, reconfigurations, moves, and new installations.
      • Maintain the inventory of Indego station assets, including infrastructural piece, electronic dock components, tools and equipment, hardware, and station & dock batteries.
      • Maintain and refurbish Indego station equipment and used equipment procured from other systems.
      • Be a safe and courteous driver and cyclist.
      • Interact with bike share passholders and the public in a friendly and professional manner.
      • Demonstrate continued comprehension on programming, repair, and maintenance of Indego stations.
      • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly workshop and warehouse environment.
      • Use Fiix, BCycle Admin, Slack, etc. to track, maintain, and log workflow.
      • Other duties as assigned


      Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

      • Computer hardware, electronics and/or electrical experience required.
      • Technical and mechanical aptitude.
      • Strong proactive communication, verbal and written.
      • Strong computer aptitude, and command of various software/productivity tools.
      • Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in all work performed.
      • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
      • Ability to identify and communicate needed improvements.
      • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (must pass a motor vehicle record check).
      • Comfortable driving, stopping and working in busy outdoor urban environments
      • Ability to safely operate a long-john style cargo bike on city streets.
      • Adaptability - the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
      • Dependability - the individual is punctual, consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
      • Ability to follow instructions, respond to management's direction and solicit feedback to improve performance.
      • Excitement and interest in bike sharing .

      Physical Requirements and Special Demands:

      • Frequently bend, stoop, and twist throughout the day
      • Requires the ability to regularly lift objects up to 65+ lbs. and carry objects of this weight for distances up to 150 feet.
      • Requires the ability to perform work while standing for prolonged periods of time.
      • Repetitive motion required of the wrists, hands, or fingers occasionally throughout the workday.
      • Job requires working outdoors in various temperatures including rain, and both extreme cold and heat conditions. Also requires warehouse work and some office work when necessary.
      • Will occasionally require working on short ladders.
      • This role requires the ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand, understand the speech of another person
      • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
      • Safely operate vehicles and cargo bikes in heavy traffic in an urban environment
      • Comfortable using power and hand tools, following all safety procedures and in accordance with manufacturers guidelines and internal SOPs.
      • Comfortable driving larger vehicles such as F-350 stake body pickup truck with a trailer attached.
      • Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
      • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with company policy.
      • This is a full-time position expected to work 32 hours per week (4 days per week, 8 hours per day). Night and weekend work may be required.
