- Knowledge and experience using Slate Admissions software
The Academic Programs Manager reports to the Associate Dean of the Graduate Division and manages the centralized Graduate Division application and admissions system, Slate. The Academic Program Manager serves as the system steward for Slate and is responsible for managing all processes, procedures, and updates in Slate, as well as training new users. They also verify admissions credentials, approve fee waivers, generate annual admissions reporting, and respond to and/or triage application inquiries. The Academic Programs Manager works closely and communicates effectively with graduate program administrators and the Registrar to address questions, rectify application issues, and ensure proper processes and data recording. The Academic Program Manager plays a critical role in annual maintenance and reporting.
The Academic Programs Manager also manages the graduation procedures for students by monitoring applications for graduation and ensuring all graduation requirements are met and recorded. The Academic Programs Manager manages the dissertation/thesis submission, reviews dissertation submissions for formatting and standards, and approves them in ProQuest.
The Academic Programs Manager provides expertise and guidance to students, staff, and faculty and approves applications in the APM430 process for visiting undergraduate and graduate scholars.
Additionally, the Academic Programs Manager creates and manages the procedures for multiple internal fellowship awards.
