      Overview

      Position: STEAM Behavior Support Specialist

      Department: Nita M. Lowey 21st CCLC Roller Enrichment Academy, Harrisburg, PA

      Availability of Position: June 16 – July 24, 2025

      Schedule: PT+, 28 hours per week, flexible to meet job demands June 16-July 24, 2025, 8am-3pm

      Reporting Relationship: Directly: Youth and Family Education Administrator Indirectly: Programs and Services Chief Administrator

      Salary Grade: 74 Non-Exempt, seasonal

      Responsibilities

      Position Overview:

      The Behavior Support Specialist will work to support specific students in behavior intervention and support during classroom time, recreational periods and field trips. The Specialist will work closely with the program administration to determine goals and behavior plans. The Specialist will adhere to program behavior policies and structure, including the use of positive language in coaching students. Must be prepared to work with all program ages (K – 6th grade). Experience with behavior support or intervention required. This position is part-time, seasonal employment.

      Qualifications

      Requirements:

      • Confidentiality in all areas, mandatory
      • Associate degree in a related field
      • 2 years of work experience in related fields
      • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
      • Valid Driver’s License Preferred
      • Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English
      • Must possess good interpersonal relationship skills
      • Must be a team player
      • Must be trustworthy and responsible
      • Must understand and be willing to extend great customer service
      • Valid Driver’s License and able to obtain insurance clearances as determined by The Salvation Army's insurance company.
      • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
      • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
      • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
