- Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes, and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.
- Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
- Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.
- Properly washes, stacks, and stores China, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.
- Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.
- Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.
- Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
- Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
- Assist with maintaining and organizing China and warehouse.
- Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
- Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1+ year of experience working in a kitchen or as a steward is preferred, experience in customer service role is preferred.
- ServSafe Certified preferred.
- Live within or near Houston, TX.
- Planning and multi-tasking.
- Must be a phenomenal team-player and self-motivated with a high energy level.
- Flexibility to work events, weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Ability to follow directions and work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Prolonged periods of moving through kitchen, coolers, and storage spaces. Traveling throughout the event space in different terrains.
- Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as but not limited to lifting up-to 40 pounds at times.
- Manual dexterity to operate cooking tools such as knives.
- Physical endurance to work long shifts in a busy environment.

This standard is upheld through our expansion into Sports and Entertainment Hospitality Services, offering elevated concessions and premium offerings at collegiate stadiums, PGA golf tournaments, international boat shows, professional sports teams, and more.
We are seeking Stewards who will be responsible for a wide range of tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the back of house at Rice University. Work assignments vary daily but typically include cleaning, sanitizing kitchen areas, supporting food prep, and maintaining organized storage and dishwashing systems.

Work Environment
The work environment for this position will be event operations and working out of the Football Stadium or similar venues. This position will often move throughout campus and stadium grounds on different terrains. This role will also be in and out of freezers and coolers and utilizing typical kitchen equipment.

Non-slip shoes are required.
