- Play a leadership role in the regional Cumulative Effects Program Decision Support Implementation Project to deliver regional priority products aimed at improving consideration of cumulative effects in provincial resource management decisions.
- Work as part of a collaborative team with Collaborative Indigenous Stewardship Forums to guide and support the development of cumulative effects protocols, assessments, decision-support tools, procedures, and management guidance.
- Represent Skeena Region Water, Land and Resource Stewardship at provincial Cumulative Effects Framework meetings, providing a link and ensuring consistency and synergy between regional and provincial programs.
- Provide policy support on the consideration of collaboratively developed data and information in provincial planning processes.
- Support extension and engagement activities with government agencies, First Nations, stakeholders and the public about collaboratively developed data and information products.
- Support, participate in, and facilitate working groups, in partnership with First Nations, to develop policy and guidance on the collection, use and governance of collaboratively developed data and information.
- Master’s degree in Natural Resource Management or Planning field (e.g., Resource Management, Forestry, Biology, Agrology, Geography), Law or Public Administration and 3 years of related experience*; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management or Planning field (e.g., Resource Management, Forestry, Biology, Agrology, Geography), Law or Public Administration and 5 years of related experience*; OR
- A technical diploma in Natural Resource Management or Planning field (e.g., Resource Management, Forestry, Biology, Agrology, Geography), Law or Public Administration and 7 years of related experience*.
- Experience translating or applying scientific and technical information for use in policy, standards, guidelines, regulations, or decision-support making
- Experience applying natural resource policy, legislation, standards, or regulations in decision-making.
- Experience in leading or participating in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience working for/with First Nations on resource management issues.
- Experience translating complex scientific and technical information into plain language text and simple diagrams or infographics for use by non-technical audiences.
- Experience in a multiple partners environment understanding perspectives, conflicts and facilitating/developing solutions.
- Experience and/or understanding of spatial analysis (GIS), modelling, and environmental assessments.

The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship is accountable for integrated land and natural resource management, including objective setting for land and marine environments, effectively managing cumulative effects, and advancing reconciliation with Indigenous peoples, environmental sustainability, and economic growth.
This position is part of an interdisciplinary team charged with implementation of the provincial Cumulative Effects Framework in the Skeena Region by supporting regional priority cumulative effects projects and working within the Collaborative Indigenous Stewardship Forums (CISF).
