THE ROLE
The Store Team Leader (STL) is a key leader responsible for driving legendary guest service, retail store conditions, and the highest level of team member engagement. The STL establishes priorities, distributes resources, assesses outcomes, and rapidly adapts to new information and situations. The STL is a highly dynamic and visible leader, with skills and abilities to foster a positive and productive work culture, ensuring positive outcomes for guests and team members.MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU’D DO
• Responsible for total store leadership, ensuring store operations and standards are maintained in the absence of the Store Director Team.
• Ensures team members in all departments uphold the highest level of guest service and productivity. Guides team member behaviors through positive influence and direct coaching to ensure alignment with company standards.
• Role models company Mission Statement and Guiding Principles, providing a work environment based on honesty, integrity, and trust.
• Champions a culture of positivity and collaboration, working with team members in all departments to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
• Actively and continuously assesses retail sales floor conditions compared to company standards for product presentation, quality and freshness. Empowers team members to react to changes in daily business needs by reestablishing priorities and reallocation of resources.
• Skillfully delegates and proactively follows-up with team members to ensure that priorities are appropriately managed, and tasks are completed efficiently.
• Ensures operating conditions, merchandising standards, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained throughout the entire store.
• Partners with Department Team Leaders and team members to ensure all responsibilities related to beginning and end of business day procedures are fully executed across all departments.
• Responsible for maintaining a culture of safety, ensuring all team members practice safe workplace behaviors. Equips team members with necessary tools and training to work safely and immediately coaches unsafe behaviors in all departments.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
• Minimum one year of successful experience as a key leader in a high-volume, guest service driven, retail food environment required.
• Minimum one year of skilled performance as a department or total store leader in a high-volume, guest service driven, retail food environment strongly preferred for externally hired team members.
• Successful experience as a Metropolitan Market Department Team Leader required for career pathing of internal team members.
• Demonstrates appropriate professional judgment.
• Works collaboratively while building trust-based relationships with team members.
• Possesses insatiable curiosity; uses creativity to overcome unexpected challenges.
• Supermarket financial statement understanding; successful experience with profit and loss control at a department level, minimum.
• Role models team member behaviors and brings out the best in others.
• Demonstrates a high level of self-motivation; takes initiative; problem solves.
• Experience using MS Office Suite.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet needs of the business.WHAT WE OFFER
