- Establish data inventory, create taxonomies, determine “source of truth” platforms and/or data points for data analytics, data visualization and reporting, create data management principles and procedures, provide guidance on how to integrate data across systems (including leveraging 3rd party platforms)
- Assist in identifying, designing, and implementing data strategy templates, processes and/or tools; implementing and supporting the firm's data visualization standards; overseeing data stewardship and ownership; creating vision for data collection and integration efforts; connecting firm project business cases to data strategy; identifying new analytics approaches, data connection opportunities and modern data and analytics capabilities; ensuring data quality, standardization and governance by establishing processes and controls
- Lead the implementation of the firm’s business intelligence and Power BI operating and governance model in support of firm strategic initiatives leading to data informed insights
- Deliver dashboards that are consumable, provide actionable insights and enable our professionals to make data informed decisions using high impact metrics and visualizations
- Identify business opportunities to use data to inform decision making and improve the efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of legal services for our clients and firm leadership
- Participate in establishing artificial intelligence within the firm; provide business perspective; determine business needs; translate business requirements to technical developers; awareness of AI limitations
- Interface and work cross-functionally to drive a greater understanding of our business opportunities and the impact with data and business intelligence
- Support a cultural change initiative to democratize data and remove silos across operational teams.
- Create an “our data” mindset and collaborate to find solution to challenges.
- Apply storytelling and visualization skills to deliver clear and concise initiatives in support of data strategy and business intelligence
- Facilitate process improvement methodologies, continually evaluate options, and implement solutions
- Special projects and other duties as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree with 5-7 years of experience with data strategy and/or business intelligence and at least 3 years in a law firm or professional services firm working cross-functionally and negotiating decisions
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, change management, and coordination of people and process
- Strong service orientation and experience working with lawyers in a consultative manner, and the ability to translate business challenges into technical requirements
- Ability to communicate complex results clearly to a non-technical audience
- Understanding of data management principals and data warehouse administration
- Experience using data visualization tools (MS Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Certification or coursework in Data Strategy, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Artificial Intelligence preferred
