      We are searching for an individual to join us. You will be an integral part of a lively operational centre, responsible for minimising the effects on National Highways Network for current and forecasted incidents.

      Immerse yourself in a career that never sleeps! Our dedicated team ensures uninterrupted service 24/7, 365 days a year (yes, that means even on Christmas day!) You will need to be comfortable working six shifts on and having four well-deserved days off, offering a magnificent blend of variety and work-life balance. Shift patterns include two early shifts (6am-2.30pm), two late shifts (1.30pm-11pm) and two night shifts (9pm-6.30am).

      Car commuters will find Quinton Business Park easily accessible as it is situated close to the M5. With 24 hours working patterns it is crucial to remember that there aren't many public transportation choices in this area. Please keep in mind that the chosen applicant might have to depend on different forms of transportation for their daily commute to and from work.

      What you will be doing:

      • Receiving information about events and incidents occurring, assessing the information then creating and monitoring these events on the National Traffic Information Service (NTIS) system
      • Supporting with the management of events and incidents via the setting of Variable Message Signs across the Strategic Road Network (Ultimately updating the big signs you see on the motorway!)
      • Monitoring traffic data to help detect current events
      • Confirming and monitoring automated roadwork events
      • Making sure that all collaborators and other interested parties are advised in accordance with agreed procedures
      • Liaising with internal clients

      What you’ll bring:

      • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to deliver a high-quality customer service in a professional manner, creating trust and confidence
      • Good PC skills and be confident using Microsoft Office applications
      • Proficient time management of own workload under the pressure of a dynamic working environment
      • Good attention to detail
      • Data entry skills
      • Effective teammate, who constantly displays dedication and flexibility
      • Articulate and able to maintain good relationships with colleagues and clients
