Lockheed Martin Strategic Operations Research Analysts conduct modeling and analysis of military systems to quantify the impact of operational concepts, air vehicle design, payloads, and tactics using a combination of multiple unique tools (Examples: AFSIM, BRAWLER, homegrown analysis tools) and diverse disciplines (Aero performance, mission systems, signature, weapons and tactics) while leveraging computer science, software architecture/design, systems engineering principles and approaches. All of this is done with context and input provided by military intelligence and collaboration with current and former military aviators.
LM Strategic Operations Research Analysts provide research and modeling of military systems performance and operations, develops analytical methods and tools to facilitate analyses, executes trade studies, performs data analytics and statistical analysis to support requirements definition, system of system evaluation, and military utility assessment of advanced technology and concepts.
LM Strategic Operations Research Analysts provide complex, classified data analysis and quantitative and qualitative reasoning to inform both USG and LM strategic decisions across the Joint All-Domain Operations spectrum, including impact of current and future foreign threat capabilities. This requires analysts to understand many disciplines to lead analysis scoping discussions, collaborate across many disciplinary SMEs, and succinctly communicate results of complex simulations to audiences of diverse backgrounds. • Current or eligible for a DoD Top Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree from an accredited college in related technical discipline
• Military operations analysis modeling and simulation experience
• Technical experience in radar, electronic warfare, aerodynamics, infrared, communications, cyber, or AI
• Model based systems engineering experience
• Proficient in data analytics, big data, data science/machine learning, and data visualization
• Scripting/data processing experience (MATLAB, Python, or similar)
• Proficient in analytical methods (e.g. design of experiments, optimization, or statistical analysis)
• Experience executing studies, post-processing/data mining, and presenting results • Military operations analysis experience; engineering and/or mission analysis a plus
• Experience with AFSIM
• Experience with CAMEO
• Experience modeling airborne and surface military platform, sensor, or weapon performance and operations
• Experience applying discrete or Monte Carlo simulations
• Experience with DevSecOps methodologies and technologies for implementation (Git, Gitlab and/or Gitlab CI)
• Experience working on Windows and/or LINUX computer systems
• Project management experience
