- Master’s degree (MSN, MBA, or MHA) accepted in lieu of 3 of the required years’ work experience.
- Associate’s degree with 7 years of experience accepted.
- Project management PMP certification or relevant healthcare work experience, change management certification, six sigma blackbelt or green belt, lean blackbelt or green belt, communications certification, leadership program completion, or workplace communications or management certification may be accepted in lieu of work experience.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective strategic business relationships across all lines of management, team members and external project stakeholders.
- Must have excellent communication skills and strong business writing skills.
- Highly developed people skills are an absolute must as routine effective communication with internal and external stakeholders is required.
- Ability to interpret data and information, draw conclusions and formulate plans independently is critical to success.
- Superior meeting facilitation, public speaking, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage conflict, while functioning in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Ability to make decisions and draw conclusions with minimal guidelines and oversight.
- Work is non-standard and requires a high level of judgement.
- Must be able to independently solve problems, draw conclusions and defuse difficult situations.
- Advanced PC skills are required to include the Microsoft Office suite.
- Expert level Excel and PowerPoint skills are a must.
- Experience documenting projects using Project Management Software (Project, Office Timeline, Workfront, Clarity PPM, Asana etc.) is required.
!*!Job SummaryUnder the guidance of the Director of the Project & Results Management Office (PRMO) or an assigned Program Manager and according to established policy and procedures, the Strategic Project Manager (SPM) integrates with C-Suite leadership & service line executives to provide project mgmt. oversight for health system-wide strategic and operating imperatives. SPM successfully leads each assigned strategic project through four robust phases: Business Planning & Development, Capital Allocation-Project Approval, Project Execution-Implementation, and Results Management (Benefit Realization). Strategically partners and integrates with other health system project management offices/teams (IT, Service Line Operations, Facilities, Process Engineering, Quality). Primary work consists of managing people and activities necessary to complete assigned strategic projects. Utilizes industry standards and principles (PMBOK or DMAIC methodology) to execute project management activities. Reviews legal documentation and prepares analysis of current and future processing states while documenting project scope of work. Identifies and recommends solutions to identified risks and gathers responses from stakeholders, prospective partners, and or vendors. Prepares, manages, and implements detailed work plans, organizes and manages multiple project teams, prepares project and team documentation. Manages established project budgets and supervises coordinated activities of contracted project personnel. Serves as liaison between hospital and partner/vendor personnel, and other activities and responsibilities associated with strategic project management.
