      A Brief Overview

      Reporting to the Director, Development & Campaign Communications within the Office of Institutional Relations & Development (IR&D), the Strategist, Digital Communications creates engaging and audience-relevant content for UHGiving.org and digital communications.

      What You Will Do
      • Builds and drafts content for digital communications, following UH design and brand standards.
      • Designs e-communications graphics and edits photos for effective use in emails, on the website and for social media content. Also works with other team members to help enhance basic graphics, as needed.
      • Helps manage crowdfunding pages, including content, design and approvals.
      • Writes and posts creative content to UHGiving.org, including updating and creating new pages, donor stories and calendar listings.
      • Stays current on and utilizes current trends and changes in e-communications styles and phrases to maximize search engine optimization (SEO) keyword writing and drive traffic to website. Identifies ways to uniquely promote UH.
      • Helps maintain a repository of patient, clinician and donor stories to be used as needed in print and digital communications. When needed, works with leaders throughout the system to identify new stories.
      • Writes short stories for print publications, such as Legacy and Annual Report.
      Additional Responsibilities

      • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

      Education

      • Bachelor's Degree (Required)

      Work Experience

      • 2+ years Of digital communications writing and editing experience. (Required)
      • Experience within a development or marketing department at a major nonprofit organization. (Preferred)
      • Experience in content management systems: SiteCore, Luminate Online, Classy or similar platforms (Preferred)

      Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

      • Drafts engaging email and web content for donor audiences, following UH brand standards. (Required proficiency)
      • Designs and codes digital communications (HTML), following UH design standards. (Required proficiency)
      • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Photoshop. (Required proficiency)
      • Strong writing, editing and verbal communications skills. (Required proficiency)
      • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, handling multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment. (Required proficiency)
      • Ability to set priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work with multiple staff constituencies within the organization and in the funding community. (Required proficiency)
      • Highly motivated and resourceful. (Required proficiency)
