      Job summary

      The Strategy, Policy and International Team supports NICE's Executive Team to define NICE's strategy, build and execute effective plans to implement it, and adapt it to changing circumstances. We ground our work in an understanding of the needs of the health system and the capacity of NICE to meet those needs, and we are responsible for defining and managing significant change across the organisation.

      The purpose of this role is to support efficient and effective organisation and delivery of policy analysis and development, strategic planning and strategy development across NICE. The post holder will be responsible for planning, co-ordinating, monitoring, and analysing policy and strategy activity across NICE, ensuring that links are made with the government and NHS partners.

      Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a verbal and numerical reasoning assessment. Those progressing beyond this stage will be invited to a first-stage interview, expected to take place between 4th and 7th August. Final interviews will then be held on 13th August.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will work with the Associate Director of Strategy and Head of International Strategy and support NICE's new Strategy, Policy and International Directorate with a focus on policy and strategy analysis and development.

      The post holder will work to identify relevant policy, political or strategic changes of relevance to NICE, analyse the impact of those changes, and work with colleagues across NICE to develop appropriate strategies, policy advice and responses. This includes developing NICE's role delivering the 10 Year Health Plan, NICE's international strategy, and supporting NICE's role in cross-government programmes such as those relating to access to new health technologies or medicines.

      The role will also support the development of proactive cross-cutting policy positions on behalf of NICE, including leading elements of policy development in collaboration with colleagues across NICE.

      The post holder will provide support, both proactively and on request, to the Associate Director of Strategy and Head of International Strategy and support other activities in the Strategy, Policy and International Directorate.
