QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics or other degrees with a background in Finance. MBA, CFA or Post grad preferred.
• Knowledge: Banking business, financial analysis, valuation, accounting and advanced computer skills (Office; Bloomberg; Capital IQ, etc).
• Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience in investment and/or financial analysis (Internal Audit, Capital Management, Corporate Finance / M&A, Equity Research, Asset Management, and ALM).
• Skills: well balanced hard (info gathering and analysis) and soft (interaction with team members and coordination with other units) skills. Flexibility in adapting to different content, tasks and other working parties.
• Language skills: fluency in Spanish and English required (written/spoken). Minimum C1.
• Travel required.

BBVA is looking to hire M&A Analysts/Associates, to join a very successful team on strategic buy- and sell-side projects as well as partnerships and JVs. The position offers an extremely steep learning curve, as the diverse team originates, analyzes and executes all domestic and international opportunities for the entire BBVA Group.
Strategic M&A projects involve the detailed analysis of entire markets as well as individual institutions spanning all sectors of the financial industry, with entities at different stages of their growth trajectory (banking, insurance, asset management and pension funds, payments, fintech, specialized financial institutions, etc).
Additionally, the role offers a significant exposure to the top management of the Group, requiring best-in-class deliverables and a hands-on contribution to high-impact projects that create value for BBVA’s shareholders.

About the job

MAIN FUNCTIONS

• Financial and business analysis.
• Info gathering, market and industry research.
• Modeling and valuation of financial companies (DDM, market trading multiples, regression analysis, etc.).
• Coordination of teams (both internal and external).
• Carrying-out due diligence processes.
• Elaboration of presentations and materials to be used in discussions of Strategic M&A projects with the management team and Board of Directors of BBVA.
