- Lead industry and competitive analyses independently end-to-end
- Build business case models and opportunity-sizing analyses that are supported by data
- Be flexible in adapting your approach and expanding your competencies when a better way presents itself
- Be able to apply a solid understanding of the financial services / FinTech landscape
- Be highly structured and synthesize findings into a crisp and coherent story that enables strategic decision making
- Identify requirements to take development of the opportunity to the next phase, while dealing with ambiguity and a wide variety of stakeholders
- Grasp the complexity of a proposition, while describing it in a simple / clear way
- Communicate effectively and collaboratively, and challenge constructively
- Be a key contributor to the team, working in close alignment with team members, but also with various stakeholders from across teams
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in financial services, either within strategy consulting or in an analytical role within a Global Tech or Financial Services firm
- Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills
- Hands-on experience with Excel, SQL or Tableau are good to have
- Ability to explain difficult concepts in simplified terms
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders and collaborate closely to develop optimal solutions
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to work with ambiguity in fast changing environment
- Bachelor degree at minimum Master degree preferred

The FinTech business unit within Booking.com aims at removing financial friction from the travel experience for both travelers and our accommodation partners.
As a Strategy Associate within FinTech in Amsterdam, you support identifying, shaping and bringing to life exciting financial products and support strategic decision making on those products. The role is key to gain a better understanding of what financial frictions are, how we could address them and where to prioritize.This includes shaping opportunities for new financial products on Booking.com, performing qualitative and quantitative analyses on these and translating the insights into a clear proposal and roadmap. As part of this role, you will consult both internal and external data sources, identify key requirements and challenges to bring a proposition to life, be creative about analytical methodologies, engage with many different stakeholders and present to senior leadership.
This role will also require you to think in a structured way about the capabilities required to offer those financial products and how we should approach gaining those (build / cooperate / buy from 3rd party). Good understanding of Financial Services and/or global tech companies is key to this.
