      Technology for the Chief Operating Office

      The Technology for the Chief Technology Office (TCOO) organization provides technology services for the Chief Operating Office. This includes operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity and resiliency, data solutions and services, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and the corporate properties group. TCOO provides technology solutions and manages application portfolios for these groups to support modernization and optimization.

      In TCOO, we streamline operations functions by leveraging automated and cutting-edge experiences for our clients and employees built on the strong foundations of secure, scalable and highly reusable components with engineering led culture and diverse talent.

      Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes

      TCOO Strategy, Transformation & Business Services Executive

      TCOO is hiring an executive leader that possess broad-based experience transforming technology organizations within a regulated environment and complex architectural and financial constraints. As the right hand to the CIO, this leader will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring efficient and effective support. This executive position is responsible to develop and implement the TCOO’s strategic vision and operational plan, driving key initiatives, streamlining processes, and maximizing the value of IT investments.

      This role will be responsible to deliver all core business services; initiative portfolio planning and delivery, employee communications and engagement, workforce, and workplace planning, to drive key operational business processes with a focus on efficiency. In addition, this leader will collaborate and work closely with functional and business CIO organizations to drive cross-TCOO strategic initiatives including Agile Deployment, Cloud Migration Strategy, and Operational Transformation. This position will report directly to the CIO for COO with a dotted line into Office of the Head of Technology.

      This leader will drive collaboration and integrate innovative capabilities in their area of accountability, including partnering with strategic suppliers to ensure engineered solutions align with end-state designs that securely and reliably modernize our technology stack. This role will design and implement a robust framework that guides our transformation initiatives ensuring seamless integration and sustained improvements across TCOO and the COO functions.

      Key Responsibilities

      Strategic Leadership:

      • Collaborate with the CIO to develop and implement operational strategies that align with Wells Fargo and Technology’s overall mission and goals.
      • Lead strategic cross-organizational initiatives, including but not limited to Agile Transformation, Cloud Migration, Efficiency Initiatives, and Operational Transformation.
      • Act as a key member of the executive team, contributing to strategic decision-making processes.

      Operational Management:

      • Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness, optimizing processes and systems to improve productivity and reduce costs.
      • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that ensure compliance and promote organizational standards.

      Portfolio Management and Capacity Planning:

      • Manage the TCOO’s portfolio of projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and resource availability.
      • Oversee capacity planning to ensure that resources are effectively allocated to meet current and future operational demands.
      • Prioritize projects and initiatives based on strategic goals and resource capacity.

      Communications and Engagement:

      • Develop and implement effective communication and engagement strategies to ensure clear and consistent messaging across the organization.
      • Facilitate communication between the operations team and other departments to ensure alignment and collaboration.
      • Act as a spokesperson for the operations team, representing operational interests and updates to the executive team and stakeholders.

      Team Leadership and Talent Strategy:

      • Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
      • Develop and implement talent strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent within TCOO.
      • Ensure proper resource allocation and management to meet operational demands.
      • Collaborate with HR to design and implement professional development programs and succession planning.

      Performance Monitoring and Analytics:

      • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth, monitoring and evaluating results.
      • Implement metrics and OKRs to measure operational success and drive continuous improvement.
      • Utilize analytics to inform decision-making and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
      • Prepare and present reports on operational performance to the CIO and executive team.

      Required Qualifications

      • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
      • 4+ years of Management experience

      Desired Qualifications

      • The candidate must be comfortable in front of large audiences to develop, influence and foster the community.
      • Expertise in Agile Methodologies and Certification
      • Demonstratable knowledge and understanding of technology support: Cloud, Microsoft Azure Google Cloud Certification such as Google Cloud Digital Leader certification.
      • Knowledge and understanding of technology support: web and services platforms along with system integration: engineering or platform engineering experience.
      • Must have strong executive presentation and relationship building skills. Ability to present a message clearly and succinctly to business leaders, product leaders and very large and executive audiences.
      • Extensive experience in technology leadership roles within the financial services industry, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment.
      • Strong expertise in risk controls self-assessment and implementing effective risk management strategies.
      • Proven track record of developing and executing technology strategies aligned with business objectives.
      • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, security, and privacy requirements within the financial services sector.
      • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead teams through transformational change.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
      • Strategic mindset and the ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
      • Transformation experience within large matrixed organizations and how to simplify the organization.
      • Understanding of different approaches towards organizational design.
      • Understanding of financial and budgeting practices and how an enterprise would operate in a product centric manner.
      • Understanding of complex organizational design.
      • High level understanding of enterprise and domain architecture.
