      Job summary

      The post holder will be part of the 0-19 Families Health and Wellbeing Service providing public health advice, information, and guidance and supporting early intervention. In doing so, they will contribute to the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of programmes of health, ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge.

      They will work to professional codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge.

      The post holder will promote the health of children aged 0-19 within the Staffordshire area through the public health agenda, thus enabling each child to reach his/her development, and educational potential.

      Main duties of the job

      0-19 Practitioner- Health visitor/School Nurse -Strengthening Families

      The Families' Health and Wellbeing Service (0-19) in Staffordshire have a vacancy in the Stafford and Stone Strengthening Families team for 22.5 hours a week. We are looking for a Health visitor or School nurse who strives to deliver the values and behaviours of our trust. We are seeking a person who will be caring and compassionate providing excellent support to parents and their families. You will encourage effective team working and develop others, ensuring the best outcomes through evidence based practice. The Strengthening Families team is part of the wider 0-19 Universal team and the successful applicant will work closely with families who have additional support from partner agencies. You will be an autonomous practitioner with the ability to manage your time and caseload effectively, having excellent analytical and documentation skills for report writing. You will be able to articulate a sound rationale for decision making and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of all aspects of safeguarding children.
