      Structural Drafter

      Job Summary

      POWER Engineers is seeking a Structural Drafter to work in the Power Delivery Pacific Civil/Structural Substation Department in our Portland office located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within driving distance of the office).

      Responsibilities

      • The position involves drafting opportunities on substation projects that include foundations and structural steel detailing
      • The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge and assisting others with understanding and following standards; learn client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; be responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborate on design issues; seek guidance from those with more experience

      Required Education/Experience

      • Associates degree in drafting (or equivalent technical degree)
      • Knowledge of industry standard concrete, rebar, and structural steel detailing practices
      • AutoCAD 2020 experience
      • Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members
      • Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship

      Desired Education/Experience

      • 1 to 3 years of applicable drafting experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
      • Formal structural drafting coursework with the ability to produce shop drawings
      • Able to produce Steel and Foundation Plans, Sections and Elevation Views
      • Experience with the Preparation of Bill of Materials
