- Req#: 4829
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, with structural emphasis – Master’s preferred
- Minimum of 3-7 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial structural design, preferably in a consulting environment
- Registered as a Professional Engineer preferred
- EIT with eligibility to sit for Professional Engineer exam
- Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
- Technical competence and strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of US steel, concrete, and design codes (IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI); familiarity with Canadian codes desirable
- Experience in design of structures with seismic and wind demand.
- Experience in design of shallow and deep foundations for buildings, industrial structures and heavy equipment.
- Experience in the Pulp & Paper industry and Chemical Manufacturing preferred
- Proficiency with structural drafting and design software. RISA 3D experience is a plus

Our Ideal Candidate
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for preliminary and detailed design of heavy industrial structures including concrete foundations, steel structures and buildings. Duties include estimating project costs; complex analysis and calculations; preparing construction documents; reviewing designs, drawings and specifications; performing structural assessments/inspections. This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
