      Job Title: Structural Engineer

      Job Description

      Our client, a large EPC, is looking for an intermediate Structural Engineer to join their Calgary team. This individual will work on project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process facilities, corporate, industrial, and manufacturing. The Structural Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs. They will be responsible for stamping civil/structural designs of terminals and facilities.

      Responsibilities

      • Perform civil and structural design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
      • Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, and industrial facilities.
      • Apply strong knowledge of commonly used civil and structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the civil engineering services industry.
      • Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the Civil and Steel packages design of power and process facilities.
      • Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients.
      • Coordinate with high-value engineering centers.
      • Review vendor packages affecting steel design.
      • Work independently as area lead to design civil and structures within the area or as required by the project.

      Essential Skills

      • 4-7 years experience as a Structural Engineer.
      • P.Eng in AB.
      • Oil & gas background.
      • Experience working on facilities, terminals specifically.
      • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Teckla, Smart Plant 3D, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, RISA-3D).

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Previous experience working in Alberta.
      • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

      Work Environment

      This is an office-based position working 40 hours per week. The role involves collaboration with a team of 4 other members and coordination with team members in the US and India. There are no direct reports. The office is located in a beautiful downtown area with great amenities such as a gym and coffee shops. The company plans to double in size from 50 to 100 people in the next 2 years, offering significant growth opportunities.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
