      Overview

      We are seeking a Scructural Engineer to support our Washington, DC office. Candidate will conduct engineering analyses to define and allocate UxV attributes, ensure design integration, and provide Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) through technical products. Responsibilities include ensuring structures meet performance, stability, and material requirements for shipbuilding programs.


      What will you do?

      • Perform engineering analyses of customer mission and performance requirements to define UxV attributes in engineering terms.

      • Perform engineering studies leading to the allocation of UxV attributes to UxV systems in terms of design direction, performance, configuration, space and weight, and arrangement.

      • Perform design and engineering studies to identify the degree of UxV systems integration required to meet the mission requirements.

      • Provide Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) of designs in the form of technical products such as drawings, conceptual and product engineering designs, calculations, schematics, reports, etc.

      • Ensure structures can withstand the stresses and pressures imposed by use and the environment.

      • Calculate stability, strength and rigidity and make sure the right materials are used for shipbuilding programs.


      Do you have what it takes?

      Required skills:

      • Bachelor's level degree in Engineering

      • 4 years - 7 years of relevant experience

      • Relevant engineering experience related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs.

      • Must have active DoD Secret Clearance and ability to sustain one

      Preferred skills:

      • Professional Engineer License

      • Relevant engineering experience related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs for Navy shipbuilding and defense systems.

      Pay Range: VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $74,500 -$110,080 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
