      What is the opportunity?

      To trade and risk manage the GELPs books in Toronto.

      What will you do?

      Quantitative Objectives

      Trading

      • Maximizing the capture and retention of sales credit and client value
      • Timely pricing of sales requests
      • Minimize unexplained PnL
      • Keep PnL volatility under control
      • Minimize discrepancies between desk PnL and daily financial reporting figures
      • Consistent and frequent parameters update (volatility, dividends, correlation)
      • Maintain reserves under control

      Risk Management

      • Ensure books are within GRM and Desk appointed limits while anticipating any over-limits by requesting pre-approval from both Management and GRM
      • Recycle client business risks and do so internally when possible
      • Ensure optimization of barrier management PnL
      • Minimizing operational losses (due to trading actions)

      Qualitative Objectives

      Within GELP

      • Ensure engagement and participation in working groups as needed
      • Communication and workflow between sales and trading
      • Improve day to day trading (spreadsheets, processes)
      • Respect risk recycling GELP guidelines
      • Work with the Quant and Technology teams to improve set-up
      • Generate trade ideas for the Structuring team

      Support Functions

      • Highlight, escalate and resolve issues
      • Follow up with Operations if and when needed

      Control Functions

      • Cooperation with GRM, Valuation, Product Control, Operational Risk
      • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities (Volcker, restricted list, market rules, etc.)
      • Proactively identify operation risk/control deficiencies in the business
      • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis

      What you need to succeed?

      • MBA or Undergraduate/Graduate degree in finance, economics, or mathematics and/or related trading
      • CSC, CPH, Traders Training; Registered Trader exam and applicable US registration exams
      • Solid understanding of equity markets, derivatives, fixed income, and structured products
      • Self-driven, able to cope with a high-pressure work environment
      • Good interpersonal skills

      • Strong written and oral communication skills
