- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity governance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of security measures with organizational goals and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with cybersecurity policies and identify areas for improvement.
- Support the identification and assessment of cybersecurity risks.
- Work closely with the team to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist in maintaining a comprehensive risk register and ensure timely updates.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with relevant cybersecurity standards and frameworks.
- Participate in compliance audits and assist in the preparation of documentation required for certifications.
- Gain hands-on experience working with the Office 365 suite of tools and applications.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement and configure security measures within the Office 365 environment.
- Focus on configuring policies to safeguard sensitive data.
- Create and maintain documentation related to governance, risk, and compliance activities.
- Prepare reports for management that provide insights into the effectiveness of cybersecurity measures.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are crucial for effectively conveying complex cybersecurity concepts to diverse audiences.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, as the role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Adaptability: Willingness to adapt to a dynamic and evolving cybersecurity landscape, with the ability to quickly grasp and apply new concepts and technologies.
- SEC1 - This position will be subject to pre-employment background screening, including a criminal record check.
- Proof of enrollment in a registered institution including enrollment in the semester following the work term, or enrollment in a registered co-op program will be a condition of hire.

Employment Type: Student, 4 month term, May - August, 2024
Hourly Wage Range: $19.52- $24.86 per hour.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Summer Student to join our dynamic team. The primary focus of this role will be on the governance, risk, and compliance aspects of cybersecurity. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a cutting-edge Office 365 environment and implement critical configurations, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) measures.
