      Position Summary

      The Enterprise Technology Student Intern will shadow various team members and leaders within the ET org and learn how to analyze system performance, implement quality practices, support business partners through our software tooling systems, engage and network with teammates and the broader organization. Additionally, the intern will be introduced to the leadership philosophy currently used within Enterprise Technology, they will experience a work environment that aims to be technically sound by adhering to our development and quality standards, timely and cost-effective delivery, enabling the District to realize its goals and objectives through technology.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

      • Demonstrated commitment to Grant PUD’s mission, vision, values, strategic plan and Grant PUD / IBEW Local 77 Code of Excellence.
      • Shadow various Enterprise Technology team members and leaders in a variety of tasks including:
      • Creating and tracking test cases, Bugs, Risks, Issues
      • Execution of testing and triage adhering to Grant PUD Quality Standards
      • Analysis and routing and escalation of support tickets
      • Facilitation and planning of various tasks for simple to complex projects.
      • Investigate and learn new processes and technologies that could hold potential value to the IT application development.
      • Provide End User support, thru ticketing system.
      • Receive and provide feedback to and from Enterprise Technology supervisors and team members regarding interns own performance.
      • Provide recommendations on ways to improve the Student Intern experience.
      • Understand and adhere to compliance requirements for this position that may include laws, regulations, security guidelines, Grant PUD policies & procedures.
      • Actively participate in all aspects of our safety program, including but not limited to
        • Following all safety policies and procedures.
        • Alerting supervisors and coworkers to unsafe or hazardous working conditions.
        • Reporting any safety incidents or close calls within 24 hours to your supervisor.
        • Accepting feedback from supervisors and coworkers regarding your own safety performance.
      • Schedules potential meetings, events, and gatherings, and can communicate information to the correct parties; works with other staff members to complete various tasks related to events, gatherings, and meetings; compiles documents, information, and records meeting minutes when needed.
      • Handles various tasks throughout the day and can prioritize and organize efficiently; demonstrates a high attention to detail and is task oriented; participates in research and analytics where needed.
      • Supports the various administrative individuals with file and record keeping projects, can assist in the proper handling of documents, files, and records related to record retention.
      • Assist in developing documents, emails, memos, reports, etc; and able to create professional documents to serve the specific needs of the department or situation; gathers correct information and shows integrity in presentation with clear grammar and written skills.

      Education and Experience

      Required

      • High school diploma or GED
      • Enrolled in a college program in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or related technology field.

      License and Certification

      Required

      • A valid State driver's license with no restrictions. Occasional travel to other Grant PUD locations required.

      Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; department policies and procedures; computer programs; file management; office environment; administrative tasks.
      • Skill in operating a personal computer and general office equipment; typing and entering data with speed and accuracy; utilizing MS office products; organization and prioritization; interpersonal skills including clear and concise communication both in writing and verbally.
