The Position
Join our dynamic team at Roche and contribute to meaningful initiatives in sustainability and innovation. As a sustainability and innovation intern, you will work on cutting-edge projects that align with our commitment to environmental responsibility, social impact, and forward-thinking solutions.
3D printing (Additive Manufacturing) is often listed as one of a few technologies that are already impacting our lives, with hope the future impact will only grow. In Roche 3D Printing Center of Excellence we strongly believe it is the best time to test this technology wherever possible, focusing on the most beneficial areas. We try to democratize 3D printing by making it as accessible as coffee making, we engage other departments to jointly experiment - if their work could somehow benefit from 3D Printing?
3D printing offers new opportunities for how we design our supply chains, manufacturing at the point of use to reduce packaging and logistics impact. It also offers opportunities for product design innovations with higher material efficiency than e.g. injection molding or CNC, and supports our focus on design for circularity. We are sure it is one of the most sustainable technologies but we need to illustrate this topic with more details, good examples. We are looking for someone to help us clarify, once and for all, the sustainability business case for 3D printing . We would also like to develop some universal metric/ KPI that could act as a Sustainability Indicator for 3D printed solutions.
This internship position is located in Basel, hybrid.
