      POSITION SUMMARY

      The CTAE WBL Student Intern assists in the daily functions of the assigned Division to develop an understanding of the processes, policies, purpose and overall work of the department. Work assignments align with the career clusters in CTAE and high school pathways. This position reports to the assigned department supervisor.

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

      Key responsibilities and tasks will be reviewed in the interview process and will be outlined on the approved Training Plan. A partial list of responsibilities includes compiling information, researching relevant topics, generating presentations, and providing support as directed by the supervisor.

      KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS

      Must be current Clayton County Public Schools high school student. Junior high school students are required to have successfully completed a minimum of one CTAE course in a related career cluster. Senior high school students are required to have completed at least two CTAE consecutive courses in one CTAE pathway CTAE Pathway. Current enrollment in the Work-Based Learning program at their high school or eligibility for enrollment at time of application required.

      Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate to perform the essential duties of the position.

      Familiarity with standard applications related to career area function.


      Responsibility for the Welfare of Others: Minimal depending on task being performed.

      WORKING CONDITIONS

      Variable work environment – CCPS administration buildings, school (and related) buildings, outdoors subjected to a wide range of weather conditions and temperatures.

      PHYSICAL EFFORT
      Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds, move various sizes of equipment and books occasionally, set up tables and information booths Walking, standing, kneeling; must be able to climb to negotiate stairs.

      NOTE: This is a part-time M-F position that pays $15/hour. Minimum 10 hours per week. Some weekends and evenings.
