Overview of Position

The Student Ministry Pastor / Director is passionate about seeing middle and high school students come to know Jesus, grow in Him, and serve Him. This person is a proactive, experienced leader who will set vision, recruit and equip leaders, and grow our middle and high school ministries.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Mature, growing disciple with a consistent devotional life
• Meets the spiritual qualifications found in I Timothy, Titus, and I Peter
• Exhibits a missional lifestyle and mindset
• Possesses an undergraduate degree (preferred)
• Enthusiasm for evangelism, making disciples, and ministering to students and families
• Ability to work on a team towards specific goals in a mutually edifying and supportive manner
• Ability to work on multiple tasks, be flexible, and work with little supervision
• Capable and influencing team leader with strong interpersonal skills
• Familiar with current trends related to teens, parents, and families
• Understands effective approaches to student ministry
• Self-motivated, strategic thinker, with strong communication skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

GENERAL:

• Create a balanced ministry through developing a variety of environments for students to come to know Jesus, grow in Him, and serve Him
• Develop and implement strategies, budgets, and goals for growing the ministry
• Create content for weekly large and small group meetings, and communicate with leaders on how to incorporate it into their groups
• Develop relationships with parents through regular communication, parent meetings, and individual conversations
• Ensure effective communication and promotion for ministry environments, including website and social media

TEAM:

• Expand the student ministry through recruiting and equipping new leaders
• Maintain good relationships with volunteer leaders and provide continual motivation, feedback, and training

STAFF/PASTORAL:

• Participate in other ministry duties as determined by the Lead & Executive Pastors
• Assist with the spiritual development & care of the HL campus congregation
• Cultivate good relationships with key people in the community (coaches, teachers, etc.)
• Lead other teams as necessary as we establish Highland Lakes campus

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Agrees with and commits to Austin Ridge’s Statement of Faith
• Is currently or is willing to become an active partner of Austin Ridge
• Must agree to and pass a background check
• Willing and available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

• Under the overall guidance of the Elder Board and the Lead Pastor
• Reports directly to the HL Campus Pastor
• Member of the Austin Ridge Ministry Team
