- Evaluates transcripts received from other Institutions of Higher Learning. Evaluations include reviewing the sending institution’s accreditation status, matching the transcript to the correct student in the student information syst
- Researches transfer courses for the purpose of creating or updating course equivalencies in the transfer articulation database. Reports findings to department chairs or departmentally appointed faculty for official course evaluation. Enters received evaluations in the transfer articulation database and builds course equivalencies. Research includes proactive review of other USHE institution catalogs for annual transfer articulation updates.
- Reviews requests for credit for prior learning CPL, including incoming test scores AP, CLEP, DANTES, Joint Service Transcripts, and approved CPL requests submitted directly by academic departments. Determines student eligibility and awards relevant credit.
- Performs data entry related to incoming transcripts and CPL requests, including altering and rebuilding the Admissions checklist as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned including cross training and assisting team members.
- Knowledge of department processes, procedures, and policies (training provided).
- Knowledge of FERPA regulations (training provided).
- Skills in data entry (training provided).
- Skills in Ellucian's Banner student information system (training provided).
- Skills in Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive (training provided).
- Skills in Qualtrics Experience Management Software (training provided).
- Ability to accept feedback and change behavior.

- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

What you’ll be doing:
Under the direction of the Assistant Registrar for Transfer Credit, the Student Services Assistant I is tasked with all incoming transfer credits from institutions of higher education and other forms of credit for prior learning. Evaluating includes a high volume of data entry, independent research of all domestic transfer coursework in comparison to the institution’s available courses and building approved courses into the Banner system with the use of additional software. Assists customers through phone calls, emails, and in-person consultations as assigned. Assists with special projects as needed.
