      Position Summary

      The Student Success Navigator serves as a key support figure within Central New Mexico Community College, guiding students through the various stages of the academic process. Responsible for providing comprehensive assistance and personalized guidance, the Navigator facilitates student enrollment, addresses inquiries related to college services and programs, and navigates students through financial aid processes. With a focus on fostering student engagement and success, the Navigator strategically designs and implements retention strategies, conducts outreach events, and analyzes outcomes to continuously enhance student support initiatives. Through one-on-one interactions and proactive outreach efforts, the Navigator plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless and rewarding experience for students from enrollment to graduation.

      Duties & Responsibilities

      • Manages the complete end-to-end student conversion process and student retention efforts with coworkers, staff, and faculty across the college utilizing one on one appointments.
      • Provide assistance and overall customer service to prospective students interested in Central New Mexico Community College, including in person and via telephone, email, online chat, or presentations.
      • Provides personalized guidance and support to students throughout the enrollment and registration process, addressing inquiries and ensuring a seamless experience.
      • Offers hands-on assistance to students in completing the FAFSA and provides expert guidance in navigating financial aid inquiries and procedures.
      • Guides students through the process of initiating and finalizing their applications, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience from start to finish.
      • Provides comprehensive support to students in meeting admissions requirements and facilitates the removal of any holds on their accounts, ensuring a hassle-free path to enrollment.
      • Facilitates the class registration process for students, offering personalized assistance and guidance to ensure a seamless and successful registration experience.
      • Plays a pivotal role in conversion and retention efforts by promptly addressing information requests, delivering impactful presentations, and ensuring accurate data entry and retrieval, all aimed at enhancing student engagement and success.
      • Strategically designs and implements applicant conversion programs and retention strategies to attract and retain students, fostering a culture of engagement and success.
      • Holds in-depth knowledge of CNM and its processes for enrollment and retention.
      • Contributes to the enhancement of enrollment, conversion, and retention activities by actively engaging in self-assessment and conducting research, facilitating informed decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
      • Creates and manages online and physical events for applicant conversion, student retention, and overall enrollment.
      • Manages an assigned caseload of applicants and students to foster and support them from application to graduation.
      • Participates on committees, and performs other duties as assigned.
      • Establishes and maintains constructive and cooperative interpersonal relationships with staff, peers, supervisors, and managers throughout the college, as applicable, to the essential duties and responsibilities.
      • Responsible for attaining and surpassing applicant conversion and success goals.
      • Remains current on all aspects of the admissions process, academic offerings, and financial aid opportunities of the College.
      • Offering personalized follow-up support to event attendees to address any questions or concerns.
      • Participating in community outreach initiatives or service projects to demonstrate the college's commitment to social responsibility and civic engagement.
      • Utilizing data analytics and feedback mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of outreach efforts and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
      • Performs other related duties as assigned.

      Minimum Qualifcations:

      • Associate's degree and two (2) years related experience.
      • or
      • Associate's degree and 3-4 terms directly related experience as a Student Ambassador within the Enrollment Management Student Success division.
      • Preference: Bilingual English and Spanish
      • Split time between Main Campus and Westside Campus
