Job Description

- Revise and prepare class documents
- Create and post assignments
- Grade all assignments and offer feedback
- Send weekly announcements
- Collect student feedback for speakers
- Create and administer the course’s final
- Compile course data at the end of the semester
- Input and submit final grades
- Answer student questions and messages
- Schedule weekly luncheon catering and coordinate guest list
- Contact speakers and acquire presentation materials
- Edit the speaker’s presentation materials for the class
- Manage presentation technology in the auditorium
- Must be a current UVU student.
- Must have completed AVSC 2150.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor
- Ability to follow oral and written procedures and instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to keeping the assigned schedule
This is a part-time, student position which allows for 28 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent written and verbal communication as well as conflict management skills. Additionally, organizational skills are a must because the daily operations of the class rely on the Teacher's Assistant. These classes tend to be
anywhere from 170 students each to just over 200 so the TA needs to be punctual in replying to messages and inputting grades. This job has moments of haste in which the TA must be able to act decisively and quickly in order for operations to continue smoothly.
