      We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join the team at HMP Winchester, a Category B male prison just outside of the city centre. HMP Winchester has free onsite parking as well as excellent transport links - there is a bus stop opposite the site and the train station is a 10 minute walk.

      Join the Recovery Team and empower those whom wish to make changes in their behaviour to promote health and well-being through recovery from drugs and alcohol. This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. HMP Winchester is a remand prison with capacity of around 650. Hours: This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary of £26,586 - £30,684 dependent on experience How will we support you?

      Main duties of the job

      As our new Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

      • Delivering outstanding care to psycho social patients, seeking out, listening to, and acting on their feedback - ensuring that their care is personalised and tailored to the individual
      • Providing a programme of psycho social interventions
      • Provide information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cession, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices
      • Delivering care on a 1-1 basis as well as group sessions
      • Assisting the healthcare team on the wings and in house blocks

      • Have experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, which includes housing, social care, health care and mental health pathways
