What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Act as a technical leader in substation design projects, applying standard engineering techniques
- Make design recommendations and modifications for utility substations and related equipment
- Perform calculations using engineering formulas and provide technical guidance to other engineers
- Review and produce design drawings, including one-line diagrams and wiring diagrams
- Conduct AC & DC substation studies and support SCADA and communications engineering
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent
- PE License required
- Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience
- Proficiency in substation protection and control design and industry standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with commissioning and/or field engineering
- Knowledge of substation electrical physical equipment and basic relay settings
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Proven experience with Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
