  Weber School District is hiring Substitute Teachers. This is an on-call position. Applicants may apply at wsd.tedk12.com/hire. Essential Functions Teaches subject matter, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other appropriate learning activities provided by the regular teacher. Supervise students in class, or in some cases, may be asked to work with students one on one. Cover or rotate to other assignments within the school if needed. Utilizes computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction. Must be familiar with computer technology (i.e., Google Suite) Maintains classroom organization and discipline Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere Provides and maintains a safe and supervised environment in the classroom and the school grounds Communicates and cooperates with other professional staff Demonstrates professional ethics as outlined by the Utah Professional Practices Advisory Commission Conforms to district policies Attendance must be adequate to perform the listed job functions acceptably Possesses problem-solving skills Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with students, school, staff, district staff, and patrons. Communicates effectively Other job duties as needed. Other Functions Assists other personnel as required to support them in completing their work activities. Ability Specific ability-based competencies required to perform the job functions satisfactorily include: communicating with diverse groups, maintaining confidentiality, working as part of a team, and working with constant interruptions. Responsibilities Working under direct supervision using standardized routines, providing information and advising others, and operating within a defined budget. Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, frequent climbing and balancing, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 5% sitting, 75% walking, and 20% standing. The position is performed under minimal temperature variations and conditions with some exposure to the risk of injury and illness. Experience Job-related experience is desired.
