- Provide underground utility flagging “designation” using electromagnetic equipment and other geophysical methods.
- Designate utility lines of various materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, and PVC.
- Mark utilities with flags and/or paint and create sketches of results for future use.
- Learn to establish survey control and perform utility designation markings using conventional survey equipment.
- Oversee maintenance of survey equipment, supplies, and vehicle.

- Experience with robotic total stations, data collectors, and GPS
- Ability to obtain and hold a federal security clearance
- Valid MD driver’s license with a good driving record

Job Title: SUE Technician
Job Description
Provides underground utility flagging “designation” with proficiency utilizing electromagnetic equipment and other geophysical means. Designates all utility line types of conductive or non-conductive materials including water, sewer, gas, electric, fiber optic, PVC, and all other underground facilities that would affect an excavation of a site. Marks utilities with flags and/or paint and produces a sketch of results for future use by the client. May be required to learn how to establish survey control and perform locations of utility designation markings using conventional survey equipment including robotic total stations and RTK GPS technology. Oversees maintenance of survey equipment, supplies, and vehicle. Candidate must be able to work in a team environment and be willing to work independently on occasion.

The firm is very reputable, having been around for over 50 years. They handle projects in K-12, light commercial, and industrial sectors. The company has around 250 employees across three offices located in DC, NOVA, and Germantown, MD, with the MD office being the first. The team is very close-knit and often goes on company outings together.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.00/hr.
