Job Description

- Learn professional techniques and perform tasks for one or more of these areas: schematic design, board layout, board validation, or FPGA programming
- Work and interact with a wide variety of NI staff in R&D hardware and software organizations
- Develop hardware and software solutions for design validation
- Perform research as required to complete your projects
- Diagnose and debug technical challenges
- Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar STEM-related field
- Sophomore or above standing
- Understanding of electronics, computers, and programming (VHDL or Verilog preferred)
- Strong interest in learning about and working with digital, analogue, RF, and computer technologies
- Basic proficiency designing with digital logic and synchronous elements, including flip-flops, timing diagrams, and state machines
- Basic knowledge in analogue circuit design principles
- Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Work effectively in a group development environment
- Strong problem-solving skills; enjoy problem-solving
- Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently
- Persistently drive tasks and projects to successful completion
- Take ownership of goals, schedules; manages time well
- Listen attentively; grasp and engage in fast-paced technical conversations

Overview
As a Digital Hardware Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers in the development of specific hardware and software products. You will be assigned an insightful mentor, who will guide you through your project and work term for a successful project experience. You will learn and enjoy the unique opportunity to be exposed to many aspects of the product development cycle, including design, prototyping, development, testing, and manufacturing production.
