Job Description

- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data warehouses.
- Ensure that data is properly collected, processed, and stored.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to ensure that they are running smoothly.
- Work with other teams within the organization to ensure that data is easily accessible.
- Key metric reporting
- Participate in weekly Change Advisory Board meetings
- Partner with internal resources on process development and improvement initiatives
- Attend daily stand-up and project specific meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
- Complete required regulatory training as assigned
- Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulation

- Currently enrolled as a full-time student with UFCU’s partner accredited college or universities
- Enrolled in a degree seeking program with an emphasis on Computer Science or Data Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 60 completed academic hours
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. Job may require travel to various locations throughout the Austin metro area.
- Must be bondable
- Strong background in computer science, data engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
- Experience working with SQL databases.
- Experience with data modeling and ETL processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working for a financial institution

Job Summary
The IT Data Engineering Intern will work with the Information Technology (IT) team with a focus on the development, analysis and support of data warehouse, ETL’s, data virtualization, and data pipelines. The Intern will show initiative in process documentation, development and support while demonstrating effective communication with both IT and business partners. Personality and team focus are critical to success at UFCU.
Under supervision, the Infrastructure Intern will partner with other IT data engineers, architects, and management across IT and Data Analytics in order to deliver data for use in enterprise reporting, ML Models, and other business functions and decision making. The Infrastructure Intern must be focused in delivering successful solutions, including helping define requirements, technical design, key performance and compliance metrics in support of best practices.
The minimum commitment is 20-35 hours a week, Monday through Friday, beginning June 3, 2024 through August 23, 2024.
