      Job Description

      We are seeking highly motivated university students to join us in developing leading edge products and technologies while learning valuable hands-on engineering skills. Current students pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and graduating December 2024 and beyond are encouraged to apply.

      Join a world class team of mechanical engineers working on innovative designs and analyses in the hard disk drive industry. We are recruiting for Mechanical Design Engineering interns who are excited to use their knowledge and experience to focus on design and analysis of mechanical systems and components as part of a development team. The candidate will acquire skills in conducting feasibility studies, preparing designs using 3D CAD and drafting software, and identifying prototype concepts. Hands on experience in developing test methods and executing tests on new and modified designs will be part of the experience during the internship.       Qualifications

      • Current student pursuing a Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and graduating December 2024 and beyond
      • Interest in mechanical component design, HDD dynamics, vibration, and shock
      • Firm grasp of engineering concepts and interest in HDD dynamics and vibration
      • Experience in 3D-CAD software such as SolidWorks or similar
      • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
      • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
      • Right to work in the US without requiring Western Digital to commence or sponsor an immigration case in order to employ you (for example, H-1B or other employment-based immigration case)
