Collaborate with Development, Finance, Accounting, and Procurement teams on strategic capital initiatives.
Support new development capital project requests and approvals in monthly senior executive committee meetings.
Maintain and create cost projections for greenfield construction and incremental site builds.
Work on equipment procurement and delivery processes.
Develop new processes and documentation to improve capital project management.
Apply industry-leading practices to improve overall business performance.
Mapping out capital processes and documentation for efficient initiative processing/life-cycles
Analyzing multi-million dollar project portfolios for efficient planning/forecasting
Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Business Management, Accounting, Finance
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint for presentations and Excel for data analysis and budgeting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Must be a US citizen
Current full-time enrollment in one of QTS’s partner institutions (listed below) or a Blackstone Launchpad affiliate school:
Auburn University
Kansas State University
Georgia State University
Southern Adventist University
Texas A&M University
University of Kansas
Previous internship or co-op experience in construction, finance, accounting, engineering or related field
Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Involvement in community activities outside of schoolwork (athletics, clubs, volunteering, part-time employment).
QTS' summer internship program will provide you first hand experience into the fast paced world of the data center industry by providing weekly lunch and learns, a comprehensive orientation program, and site based activities, socials and volunteering events. Every intern will be assigned initiatives tied to real QTS objectives helping with anything pertaining to the whole life-cycle of a data center build and/or company operations.
The Development Capital Intern will gain hands on experience in the following areas:
Capital Strategy Intern:
A successful intern in this group is someone that loves to solve complex problems leveraging a variety of variables. Familiarity with Excel beyond basic pivot tables and V-Lookups is ideal but required. An individual whom is comfortable asking questions and doing deep dives into data to discover trends will thoroughly enjoy this opportunity.
