      Summer Edge 13-week position (see additional compensation and requirement notes below). This position involves assistance with opening and closing the library, providing customer service to patrons, and assisting with the processing and maintenance of Hege Library materials. The individual will work at the Information Desk in Hege Library, and may also support the Quaker Archives. The position will involve assisting patrons with using the collection and finding materials. Specific tasks include: using the library’s Integrated Library System, OCLC WMS, to check materials in and out, answering in-person and email inquiries, directing patrons to locations in the library and other areas on the campus, assisting with library equipment and technology, and sorting and shelving materials. Other tasks could include: answering basic research and technology questions, making referrals for higher level research questions, shelf shifting, generating spine labels, affixing bookplates, editing records in WMS, searching for items on the shelves, data entry, and a variety of special projects with minimal supervision. Hours are limited to weekdays between 8am-4:30pm and on site. This position reports to the Discovery, Systems, and Digital Strategies Librarian.
