About the Role

HARMAN’s diverse portfolio of businesses and customers offer interns a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of projects and practices. The primary role will be to work with the Intelligent Audio research team in Northridge, California.

Your Team

This role will report to a leader in the HarmanX Intelligent Audio group, supporting research into advanced headphone, earbud, and spatial audio product features.

What You Will Do

• Assist in various research projects pertaining to headphones, ear buds, and spatial audio, under the guidance of industry experts
• Focus on one project that culminates in a meaningful and useful result, perhaps with publication, patenting, or other dissemination.
• Present results internally

What You Need

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Sophomore year or later, or graduate/Ph.D. program at an accredited institution taking at least one class in the semester prior to the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
• Degree must be in related area of work with courses in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering, Signal Processing, or Computer Science
• Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders
• Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

What is Nice to Have

• Previous entry level work experience strongly preferred

What Makes You Eligible

• Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
• Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
• Must provide full work availability from May 20, 2024 through August 9, 2024 and be able to work 40 hours per week
• Hybrid or remote work is optional.
