      The Houston office of Baker Botts L.L.P. is seeking undergraduate students to intern on a full-time temporary basis in various support departments. A 6-week commitment is required. Interns, under the supervision of the department manager, will support and provide assistance with a wide range of administrative assignments. Interns must be flexible to work wherever needed.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Duties will vary based on departmental assignments and needs.
      • These may include but are not limited to performing interoffice runs, updating mail carts or sorting incoming boxes, maintenance of department files; these duties may require the ability to move from floor to floor on an hourly basis, or the ability to bend crawl twist and pull.
      • Project assigned may also include data entry in various firm systems, copying filing, answering phones and taking messages.
      • Interns are to assist with other tasks, duties and projects as assigned by department manager and Office Administrator.

      Qualifications:

      • High school diploma is required, some college courses preferred.
      • Some prior work experience is preferred.
      • Strong technical skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point).
      • Client Service Orientation: must have exceptional customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times. Strong communication skills both oral and written.
      • Ability to handle confidential information.
      • Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills are essential.
      • Strong organizational skills.
      • Some departments may require occasional in-town travel and the ability to work evenings and weekends.
      • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
      • Ability to work individually or in a team and follow the instructions of their supervisor.
      • Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and ability to maintain effective relationships with co-workers and employees.
      • Strong work ethic.
      • Professional appearance.
