How you’ll make an impact: As a Pandora Listener Experience designer, you will collaborate with an inspiring team of designers and cross-functional partners to craft the immersive, uniquely-Pandora in-app audio experience loved by tens of millions of passionate listeners. You will be challenged to innovate and differentiate our services within the competitive streaming market, address our listeners’ wide range of “audio jobs to be done”, and impact SiriusXM + Pandora’s core business metrics. What you’ll do: Develop a nuanced understanding of Pandora’s business goals as well as the needs and perspectives of our listeners and advertisers Translate those goals and needs into a creative vision, hypotheses, and experiments – realized by elegant, actionable, and effective design solutions via sketches, wireframes, user flows, prototypes, visual mocks, and interaction specs Consider the full ecosystem of our listener experience across mobile, web, TV, and other devices as well as connect to the tools & teams powering the front-end experience Collaborate with cross-functional partners to define, build a shared understanding around, implement, and measure the impact of our designs Be a great design team member – we make each other better designers by providing and being receptive to feedback, asking the right questions, and recognizing we each bring unique and valuable perspectives to the team Shape the product design process – we constantly reflect upon the way we work and rely on our designers to help us iterate and improve Evangelize user-centered design across the company Share your passions (music or otherwise) with your teammates. It’s certainly not a requirement to be obsessed with music but many of us are and we love beginning meetings with “walk-up songs” and discussing our favorite new releases. Others on the team regularly share their love of video games, the outdoors, local food scenes, and more. This internship will provide you with valuable hands-on experience in product design and the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to the development of a music product that reaches tens of millions of listeners. You will work closely with experienced professionals who will guide and mentor you throughout the internship, helping you build a strong foundation in product design and preparing you for a successful career in the field. What you’ll need: Proficiency with current UX/Service Design tools (we use Figma but we can ramp you up if you currently use another) Fluency with presentation software such as Google Slides or Powerpoint A high-level understanding of development processes, technologies, and frameworks (iOS and Android client engineering, backend services, etc) is a nice to have Familiarity with component-based Design Systems Internship is open to currently-enrolled students (those graduating by May 2025 are preferred) and those who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship in a field such as Design, Interaction Design, User Experience (UX), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related discipline. A design portfolio showcasing previous work that highlights challenges you faced, how you collaborated with others, what you learned, and the personal/business/end-user impact of your work. A user-centered approach to problem solving that leverages research, analytics (when available), and empathy combined with strong design intuition and best practices An understanding of today’s common design patterns (across mobile, web, desktop) and an awareness of when it’s appropriate (or not) to deviate from them Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to tailor communications to your audience Habit of sharing your work at all stages to solicit feedback and leverage the expertise of those around you Patience, kindness, accountability, and curiosity Must have legal right to work in the U.S. At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be $37-43/hr and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
