The Town Attorney’s Office is offering a summer internship designed to provide law students with practical experience in local government legal practice. This opportunity aims to deepen students’ understanding of the legal field by engaging them in meaningful assignments across a broad range of legal areas. While interns may indicate areas of interest, the program provides exposure to various topics including planning, code enforcement, community development, eminent domain, procurement and statutory construction.
Intern responsibilities will include conducting legal research and analysis on current and relevant legal issues and presenting findings to supervising attorneys and town administration. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend Town Council meetings, Planning Commission meetings and court hearings.Work Schedule
This is a paid, part-time position offering $20.00 per hour, up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. Remote or hybrid work arrangements are currently not available. The Town Attorney’s Office Summer Intern Program runs for eight (8) weeks, with some flexibility regarding the start date and daily in-office hours.
