- Assists staff with student(s) in crisis situations and/or unruly students exhibiting negative behaviors.
- Counsels and processes students back to class after a crisis situation and/or when the student has exhibited negative behaviors.
- Enforces student compliance with school rules on a consistent basis.
- Assists faculty with disciplinary actions for students when appropriate.
- Participates in debriefing meetings in order to provide advice on appropriate assessments and interventions for students.
- Documents all critical behavior violations and the subsequent interventions to
- Oversees and manages all student searches conducted in the school.
- Assists in the securing of the building when unknown visitors are present.
- Facilitates and/or assists with physical escorts and/or restraints of students whose safety and the safety of others are at risk.
- Facilitates all in-school suspensions.
- Conducts anger management and other behavior groups as stand alones or during in-school suspension.
- Participates in students’ staffings, IEP meetings and makes home visits when appropriate.
- Works directly with the building principal on the school crisis plan, including both development and implementation of the plan on an annual basis.
- Meets with the building principal on a regular basis.
- Develops positive relationships with students.
- Assists in building walk-throughs at times designated by the
- Monitors students conduct in all school locations.
- Maintains regular daily attendance.
- Attends at least one professional development activity related to the field of social and emotional awareness once a year.
- Assists the principal in communicating any out of school suspensions, physical restraints or restrictive time outs to parents.
- Must be certified in CPI
- Protects the confidentiality of district and office records and information unless authorized and directed by their supervisor to provide the same when requested under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
- Protects the confidentiality of student records and information according to Board of Education policy and regulations, Illinois Student Records Act and the Family Education and Privacy Act.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the administration.
This is a summer school position for the 2024-2025 Clay ESY summer program, June 2 through July 2nd, $20.00 per hour.
