Job Description:
SUNY Maritime College is looking to hire either a licensed Doctor, PA or Registered Nurse for the entire training period indicated below.
EMPIRE STATE is a public vessel of the United States, solely operated for the training and licensure of the cadet midshipmen. While onboard the cadets are engaged in classroom lecture, maintenance and repair, watch keeping, and drills and training exercises all in preparation for their eventual licensure. Of the total number of cadets onboard, there will be approximately 20% that are also in ROTC, and preparing for commissioning in the Armed Services following graduation and licensure.
The training days are geared to maximize the experience of the cadets and flexibility is a requirement regarding daily scheduling of duties. This evolution will include COVID-19 protocols which must be both adhered to and enforced.

The FULL Cruise appointment is anticipated to begin May 29, 2024 and ends August 9, 2024. However, you may apply and be considered for one of the following.

This is a temporary appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.
Travel expenses may be reimbursed in accordance with the Travel Expense, Payment of Interview Policy but will be assessed on a case by case basis.
Salary/Compensation: The salary is based on a daily rate of pay and will commensurate with license, certification and experience. Meals are included.
