Job Description

- Regular attendance is required to perform the duties of this position.
- Prepares a weekly plan for the specific sport class with the input of sports instructors.
- Guides staff on implementing the sport specific plan daily and Supervises sport instructors and ensures quality of instruction is met for each class.
- Actively participates in instruction during program operational hours.
- Assists with recruitment and hiring of staff.
- Oversees the daily processes of the program to include check in, program participant transitions and cafeteria breaks.
- Manages and supervises sports facilities during scheduled programs to include crowd control, player and instructor supervision.
- Performs custodial work as needed to maintain sanitary standards and upkeep of facility.
- Assists in organizing and administering sports events as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Perform supervisory and professional work in coordinating various sport programs. Organize, coordinate and instruct summer sports programs for adults and youth.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and chain of command.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school background or GED preferred.
Supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
(A)Working knowledge of any one of the sports programs offered. (i.e. basketball, volleyball, tennis, football and soccer)
(B)Ability to interact and supervise the participation of program participants.
(C)Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, participants, and the general public.
(D)Ability to follow written and oral instructions; Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
(E)Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
Basketball equipment, scoreboard, score clock, tennis equipment, volleyball equipment, football equipment, and weight training equipment. Phone or reliable phone contact
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work under the general supervision of the Summer Sports Program Coordinator and Summer Sports Manager.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervise Summer Sports Instructors. Assist with the supervision over program participants.
