What you’ll do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key responsibilities of the role:

• Learn about and support the TJX Canada Finance function which includes analysis of financial data while collaborating with various business areas to provide support for accounting/reporting functions including budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing variances
• Establish positive business relationships with various business partners and assist in supporting innovation and business analysis projects
• Assist in preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly financial reports
• Partner with all collaborators to assist in preparing financial analysis and communicating recommendations to management on an ad-hoc basis to support in decision making
• Assist in performing general accounting month-end/year-end duties such as sub-ledger close, posting journal entries including accruals/adjusting entries, and compiling balance sheet reconciliations and schedules in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

What you’ll need

To begin your career with us, you’ll have:

• Pursuing a post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics
• Proficiency in MS Excel with Intermediate/Advanced level solid understanding of other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision in an encouraging team culture
