- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff. Supervisory functions include: makes hiring and termination decisions; prioritizes assignments and directs work; develops and oversees employee work schedules and approves time away from work; provides and/or facilitates employee training and development; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; completes employee performance appraisals; determines or makes recommendations regarding new hire salaries and salary changes; and acts as liaison between employees and management.
- Arranges burial with families and/or Funeral Directors; logs all transactions and collects monies for burials and sales; accounts for monies in an accurate manner.
- Oversees the digging of graves, lowering of remains, and removing and replacing of headstones; ensures workers utilize proper equipment and the work is performed in a safe and proper manner.
- Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and equipment needed to perform work; orders materials and completes necessary paperwork.
- Receives payments, makes deposits, distributes invoice statements, and prepares monthly reports; develops and prepares the cemetery budget and payroll; monitors cemetery expenditures to ensure compliance with budget limitations.
- Prepares maps of certain sections of the cemetery; researches logs and makes comparisons in site research of the headstones.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.

- At least five (5) years of experience in cemetery upkeep, funeral home administration, or municipal government
- Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Manages, plans, and oversees operations of the City Cemetery. Meets with families to make burial arrangements and choose gravesite. Process burial contracts, calculates fees, takes payment and forwards for processing. Purchases equipment and supplies necessary for operations. Maintains Cemetery budget and approves payroll.
