      The Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology, University Health Network requires a Supervisor, Clinical Research to work with its oncology and hematology clinical trials portfolio. This division has over 50 active full-time staff who coordinate a broad spectrum of therapeutic trials across all types of malignant disease. The Supervisor will work closely under the direction of the Clinical Research Managers to coordinate the data management activities of the department and develop processes to maintain a robust trials infrastructure.

      Principal responsibilities include supervising clinical data coordinators, implementation of processes designed to measure quality of work and assisting with hiring and performance appraisals. These functions will be carried out while performing the functions of a data coordinator on trials as assigned by the Research Managers. The Supervisor will be expected to assist the Research Managers in creating efficient systems and processes for support of clinical trials data management in DMOH and will participate in departmental and/or institutional committees and projects as assigned by the Research Managers. The Supervisor is expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable clinical trials regulatory guidelines and institutional SOP and will lead the training and mentoring of staff. The Supervisor will also coordinate trials as required by the department’s needs.

      Qualifications:

      • At minimum, a completion of a Bachelor’s degree program, or recognized equivalent in Health Related Discipline
      • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience; clinical trials data management experience in Oncology is preferred
      • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN/Department standards
      • Compliance with confidentiality requirements
      • Strong problem solving and decision making skills with ability to exercise initiative and good judgment
      • Proven ability to build and lead a team
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization, prioritization skills, advanced computer skills
      • Excellent interpersonal skills
      • Ability to work under pressure with attention to detail
      • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks
      • Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
      • Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
      • Satisfactory attendance
