      BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
      The Geosteering Supervisor is primarily responsible for providing technical support and leadership to Geosteering professionals to ensure high-quality service delivery to the drilling teams, geosciences teams and optimizes operational performance in the Well Construction Decision Support Center (WCDSC).


      EDUCATION
      Bachelor’s degree in Geology / Geosciences

      EXPERIENCE
      • 7+ years of relevant professional experience with an oil or well logging service company.
      • 5+ years' experience with Geosteering and understanding of geophysics, geology, petrophysics, LWD and directional drilling

      JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
      • Assist in communication with the broader Devon Leadership team on Geosciences/Geosteering questions and developments.
      • Assist in communicating the goals and priorities of the Geosteering & Geosciences departments.
      • Monitor metrics which are relevant to Geosteering and Geosciences and illustrate relevance and value add from the Geosteering team.
      • Create the working environment that allows employees and the team to achieve full potential.
      • Be a leader and advocate of individual performance; demonstrate excellence in goal setting, setting and maintaining standards, providing ongoing feedback, and recognizing excellence.
      • Perform risk analysis of projects with an emphasis on risk reduction and return on investment.
      • Lead technical, strategic innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge management for the team.
      • Demonstrate leadership through strategic planning, goal setting, building effective relationships, energizing the team, delivering results, and modeling integrity.
      • Executes the components of the performance assurance workflow in accordance with Guidelines.
      • Collaborates with field leadership in the implementation of standards and ensures that operations are conducted per the operational guidelines.
      • Ensures that Business Unit requests to the Geosteering team are fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner, conforming to both Devon standards and BU specifications.
      • As required by operations, provides monitoring support for the real time workflows for drilling optimization, as delivered by the relevant petrotechnical experts.
      • Ensures planned development strategy and plan are maintained and helps prevent well sidetracks and well collisions.

      OTHER REQUIREMENTS
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentations skills
      • Broad knowledge of LWD and Wireline logging technologies and applications.
      • Good understanding of drilling operations.
      • Experience with real-time operations.
